Fashion tips for stylin 30 somethings

January 26th, 2007

OK im back with my Fashion tips sorry it took a while have been very busy with Santos wish my jewellery label, which is now stocking Lisa Ho stores nationally! Check it out or log on to  www.santoswish.com

So I have apologised profusely to our lovely Bronny, who has let me after much begging, keep my blog! New years resolution must give Bronny Chicks more blogs.

Well, if you remember my last blog I was banging on, about the very much feared and worst of fashion faux pau of all “Mutton as lamb” (shudder) and I admitted that heading, well  into my mid thirties, I must at acknowledge that some pieces in my wardrobe will never “sniff, sniff” look as they did at 17.

Even, though apparently blessed (or so I’m told by friends and oh Mum stop it) I can still get away with short shorts and a considerably short mini, but now something feels NQR about donning ripped denim shorts on the street, save it for the beach…. perhaps it’s my internal body clock talking, rather than my external showing regardless, I’m listening and want to share with all those gorgeous gals in their 30’s.  Fashion tips for 30 somethings  Rule no.1  Always be 30 something, keep em guessing ok fashion tips below ;)       Rule no.1  No garish brights unless you’re skin are so Olive it would make Helena Christensen green? I’m referring to Candy pinks/Aqua’s/Canary Yellows/ however I’m not saying to no to these colors in accessories – you just don’t want them reflecting on face or at rear.  Rule no.2  Keep dresses, skirts at least at lower thigh length (this is not about how great a shape you’re in – admittedly my legs still carry it off and so do Pammies, this is about grace.    Rule no.3  Choose quality fabrics, Italian yarns, pure wools, high thread count cotton, against your face it makes all the difference – the same goes for men with regards to suits – you can spot it a mile away…..its about a fabrics, drape, texture, finish.      Rule no.3  Lining, lining lining! It’s a must, unless the fabric is so amazing, it holds itself, and nothing transparent – check yourself in front of the mirror with sunlight   Rule no. 4 Dark denim rather than the faded ice-wash variety looking denim – leave it to Pammy, she does it so well, right?! Would someone tell her its 2007!   Rule no. 5 Ditch ripped up tees and anything showing a midriff, forget those mesh layered tops (think Madonna holiday film clip)  Rule no. 6 Stock up on classic pieces, white tees/bonds singlets

Happy to make comments on any suggetsions you may have

Til next blog keep it simple, stylish and not too short xx
