You'll see the fashion victim wearing the one trend no one should. Never fear, AskBronny is here to help you identify victims whilst showing how to not be one.
Wondering what a victim looks like? Think satin combats or the new baggy skinnies. You will either admire this gal for having the guts to wear this trend or wonder what the hell she must be thinking every morning. I have this friend, I won’t name names, but suffice to say this girl could do with some fashion advice when it comes to new trends. Without fail every season hot or not this girl will be wearing the one thing that I wouldn’t be caught dead in. Don’t get me wrong, she’s a lovely gal, but she’s a fashion victim through and through. The worst offenders in AskBronny’s books are celebrities. When the stylist is in charge our celebs will usually look great, but put matters into their own hands and YIKES, it’s fashion victim time. Here at AskBronny we count the celeb fashion victim as the worst for the main reason that they put fashion on display every time they are photographed. They are the most visible, and the general public holds them up as having a clue. Unfortunately on many occasions they have no clue. Here’s AskBronny’s top three, see what you think! 1. J-Lo: Need I say more, many times I have seen J-Lo in an outfit that has prompted me to ask the question, should she be called ‘J-Lo’ or ‘J-No’. When I heard she had her own label I nearly fell off my chair. This is a clear example of a woman with no dress sense and too much money that thinks she should be telling people what to wear. She single handedly put silky combats on the agenda, J-NO! She clearly needs a stylist. A clear definition needs to be made between the Fashion Victim and the person with Bad Dress Sense (like J-No). Bad Dress Sense is something that no matter how much money or time is spent, the person will never dress with a sense of style, think of poor Bjork. Number one on AskBronny’s hit list of bad dressers would be Fergie. Great red hair, great smile, bad dress sense and what’s with all the botox! Plus, we have noticed that this sense of style seems to be hereditary when we look at the Princess’s Royal – what a shame! Perhaps the most tragic of victim’s is the one who tries to wear all of the season’s fashions at once! But never fear, if you know a victim or are indeed are one (please don’t be embarrassed), then AskBronny is here to help! Here’s our AskBronny top five rules on how to either avoid being a victim or to help someone you know. 1. Pick and choose what you wear, just because it’s on the catwalk doesn’t mean it will look great on you! It’s not all doom and gloom for the fashion victim, I would go so far as to say Madonna usually redeems herself, only to appear in something the following week truly awful! Never fear, if you follow AskBronny’s rules you will no doubt come off looking fantastic and as for that friend who just can’t help but wear it even if it’s awful, well at least you know you’ll look fabulous standing next to her! | "Money has nothing to do with being stylish. It's about being born with that inner eye and having the confidence to convey a sense of yourself outwardly. You can't buy that. It's genetic." Sarah Mower, Fashion Journalist |
