Dear Bronny,

I am over 50 years old and I feel out of place buying the latest fashions that appeal to me because I fear looking like my teenage daughter. HELP!

What a great question, it can be hard to dress appropriately at any time of life, in your 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s! Regardless of age, my fashion advice stands that to create great looks you must have an excellent basic wardrobe which includes good jeans, white shirts, stretchy tops, crisp t-shirts, comfortable yet stylish flats, leather belts, a tailored suit and accessories.

I would go so far as to say that the older we get the more creative we can get with our accessories - that's not to say that we should start wearing matching parrot earings - that might be going a tad too far! Watch our for my Getting the Basics article coming soon explaining exactly what makes a good basic wardrobe.

You should by now have a good list of basics when considering the new seasons looks consider taking a style you like and making it your own. If for example you take green as the new seasons colour: consider adding this new style to your wardrobe for example in accessories, scarves or even shoes (there are some gorgeous flats around at the moment).

Always dress to suit your bodyshape and most of all your personality!  Remember we are a canvas on display to the rest of the world.  I discovered a great book recently called "Forever Cool".
