Flats or heels, the choices! There is so much variety for us gals these days! No wonder our feet are getting just as stressed as us!
When I’m getting ready for a night out I usually leave my self a good two hours to get ready and anything under that I’m rushing. Recently I had a family wedding to attend , I changed three or four times and, even after consulting the boyfriend on what he thinks – I still changed. When I asked him one more time he said “what does it matter what I think , your just going change anyway”. Then I realized its not the clothing that was causing me most of the stress, it’s the shoe situation, yes the shoe situation, whether to wear heels or flats? This is not a decision to be taking lightly…especially when you are 6 feet tall. I wish I could wear my Haviana’s everywhere but if I want to keep up my stylish reputation then I just cant afford do that. The Pro’s and Con’s. Pro Flats The great thing about flats is that their comfortable, they look cute, and with most of them you can dance the night away without any serious injuries. They are also great if you are really tall and feel a bit uncomfortable being a head taller than all your friends. Con Flats The only problem I find with flats is that they make me feel very casual - stylish but casual. Pro Heels When I slip on a pair of heels I instantaneously feel sexier and more dressed up, they elongate the leg, which can never be a bad thing and they give your legs a bit more shape which is great if you haven’t seen the inside of a gym for the past year! Con Heels The problem with heels after a big night out is that your feet can start to go numb, or throb, unless of course your Carrie Bradshaw and immune to the pain of heels, even after running 6 blocks in a pair of 6inch Manolos! Are we suffering for our art or just arches? With heels its also very important to be careful what your wear them with. If your showing off cleavage and a lot of leg then a high heel can make the outfit look a bit cheap - unless you’re a supermodel and can pull it off. An easy fix it is to add flats to an ultra sexy outfit to stay stylish without people asking “how much?”. I did a little in house survey with friends and family asking what they prefer - flats or heels: much to my surprise heels won hands down, for the obvious reasons such as they help give you extra height when needed and make outfits more sophisticated and sexy. Everyone thought of flats as casual weekender shoes. However, I love flats because I am extremely tall and they’re comfortable and I don’t have to lean over to speak to people all the time, they are great for every day, but I too like the people in my survey prefer heels! Even though I feel I can’t pull them off everyday like someone who is shorter because everyone stares and thinks I’m weird for wearing heels when I’m tall anyway, they just make me feel sexier! Even Lindsay Lohan said when she’s feeling down she puts on a pair of heels and automatically feels sexier. You may or may not be wondering what I chose to wear to the wedding, and I will tell anyway,it was none of these style shoes. As I rummaged to the back and darkened parts of my wardrobe I found a pair of wedges that I hadn’t seen in a while but were in perfect condition! How could I forget about the wedge?? High yet comfortable because they are full and there is not as much pressure on your balls of your feet it’s evenly spread across the foot! They made me feel sexy and I danced the night away with no problems or embarrassing stumbles! So next time your getting ready for a night out here are some hot tips! Flats: Casual Chic, for everyday wear, great for if your on your feet a lot or if your tall and want an alternative to heels. Stilettos: Bombshell, can sex up any outfit, better for occasions where there is a lot of sitting and adding a few inches to your height! Chunky Heels: Sexy Casual, great with summer dresses to keep you look sexy and laid back! Wedges: Comfortable sexiness, can dress up an outfit and keep you feet from throbbing great for occasions where you want to look sexy and dance the night away!
