Big boobs, big dramas!

Written by Jane Stabler
Boobs, we all have them (ladies I'm talking to you obviously). And for those more well endowed than others, fashion can sometimes be a challenge.
Not being particularly blessed in the chest area, I have struggled somewhat with the notion that large breasts are a burden. And then I made friends with some very buxom women, and it all became very clear. It’s not that easy to dress with a chest.

Voluptuous girls have long struggled with fashion, and clothes will often be too tight for large breasts, resulting in squashed boobs that actually hurt, or styles that are baggy and make you look fatter than you are. The media and Hollywood probably don’t help things. Despite the other extreme of many models being considered too thin, there is no denying that big boobs are promoted as both sexy, and something that most females are expected to have naturally. And seeing the likes of buxom babes Halle Berry, Cindy Crawford and Pamela Anderson who (despite the fake part for Pammy) look amazing on the red carpet, it looks easy to dress a full figure. Most often, this is not so in the real world. Keep in mind that these ladies have stylists on hand, the cash to afford custom made clothing and an endless supply of Hollywood tape.

But it all begs the question, what’s a girl to do? Well, AskBronny of course!

Regardless of size, a bra is always a good idea to provide extra support and a bit of lift. But for the well endowed lady, getting properly fitted for a bra is a very good idea. It will minimise droop, help if you struggle with the weight, and reduce bounce. When truly called for, like the glamorous dress that just doesn’t suit breasts flowing out from all sides, a minimising bra is a good idea. Limit the use of these though, as they are constrictive and shouldn’t be worn too regularly.

Posture is also key for top heavy women. Obviously important for all of us ladies, but good posture is paramount to those of us who are carrying more weight in the front. Hunching to try and minimise your bust is only going to increase any back pain you may have. Stand tall and be proud to be endowed!

If you have a great rack that you want to play up, opt for giving passers-by a peek, not the opportunity to drown in your cleavage. Lace lined camis are especially good and can be teamed with a cropped jacket to allude to what’s beneath without showing all of your goods off. Patterns and pockets at the bust will also draw additional attention to that area, so will (obviously) clingy clothes. High waisted pants will also draw attention to your nether region if you want to accentuate what you’ve got.

On the flip side, if you want to de-emphasise your big boobs, there are also a few things you can do. Avoiding everything mentioned in the preceding paragraph is a good start! Try cuts like the v-neck, boatneck and in winter the turtle neck for true flattery. Also don’t invest in anything sporting horizontal stripes (Hmm…maybe that means I should!) and anything super tight around your lower half is also going to emphasise your torso. Skirts and pants with patterns are a good idea to switch the focus to your bottom area, and if you have great legs opt for short skirts to move the attention there. A-line skirts are also a good idea to provide the look of a small waist and an hour glass figure.

In 2003, busty star Jennifer Love Hewitt released a clothing range designed for buxom girls in a move to reduce the shopping problems associated with large chests. The clothing range, Enhance, was designed to support but accentuate the figures of women with large breasts (servicing cup size D to K). The problem was that even in 2005 no-one seemed to be able to find anywhere that stocked it. Perhaps it was because the “fun” fashions of the range actually included the below…

Being of the smaller variety, I have often wished for a different shape. I even tried unsuccessfully to go on a chicken diet, hoping that the hormones would find their way up to my northern parts, but to no avail. Now I understand that either way, there are things you can and can’t wear. In the words of curvaceous yet apparently fashion challenged spokesperson Jennifer Love-Hewitt, "Big breasts are beautiful. I have them and I love them. Most big breasted women would too if they only had clothes that properly supported the added weight."

So take AskBronny’s advice, and get out there to show the world what you’ve got. And I will try not to be jealous.
