Okay, so maybe your mum used to make you wear one under your clothes to keep you warm. But these days, any woman worth her fashion merit needs to have a few in the wardrobe for lots of different reasons.

3. got a top that's just a little bit short? Put a singlet in the matching color underneath and hey presto, your gut or muffin top is covered
4. for hanging out at home in your PJs, a singlet is the perfect accessory

6. for hanging out with friends, team with your favorite flip flops and jeans
7. for a night out, the humble singlet can be quite sexy, how about a black one teamed with the super trendy high waisted jeans and a pair of daring stiletto's!
8. beach wear, too easy to stuff into a bag, too easy to uncrinkle at a moments notice
9. for the gym, great to exercise in
10. for travelling, you can take heaps - they take up no space at all, and can then be used in any of the above manner
