Hello Bronny, My husband and I are going to Naples, Florida in April and will be attending a banquet in which dress is required, specifically cocktail dresses for the women. Is it appropriate to wear red that time of year? The dress I am thinking about wearing is red, at the knee, sleeveless with tie around neck strap. If so, what color shoes do you recommend; red, silver, black or white? Thank you in advance! Michele ANSWER Dear Michele You can definitely wear red to a banquet that stipulates ‘cocktail’ dresses for women. Cocktail simply means dress up, but not ball gowns, just elegant, stylish dresses. The red dress you describe sounds perfect. I would suggest black heels and a black handbag to go with your dress. If the dress is elaborate, red heels could be too much red. Silver could work as well, but again you would need to accessorise with this color in your handbag. I wouldn’t recommend white. For a cocktail party, my suggestion is to stick with either black or silver shoes and to match this with your handbag and accessories. Have a fantastic time! Love Bronny xxxx |
