Dear Bronny I am going on a cruise and need a formal dress. Will my long velvet dress be appropiate for this occasion at this time of year? Love Marie ANSWER Dear Marie How exciting!!! It’s always so much fun to go on holiday – but what to take is always an important question. One never wants to overpack – but then they don’t want to be stranded on the high seas with nothing to wear either. You can take your long velvet dress but I would like you to ask yourself a couple of questions first. Velvet is a heavy fabric and as such can be quite hot, is the long velvet dress strapless? Will it accommodate hotter weather? Is it going to be bulky to pack? If you wanted to purchase a new dress for the occasion can I suggest something in a light flowy fabric? There are some gorgeous dresses in florals made of chiffon with plunging necklines that drop straight to the floor. Something like this would be gorgeous with a flat roman inspired sandal or a silver high heel! Perfect for a formal occasion. Have a wonderful time on your safe and be safe on your voyage.
