Candy Makeup & Colors
Written by Bronny
Dear Bronny,

I read in a fashion mag, that the season colour is blue, but on a model show on tv they said that the season colour is silver. Which one is it? Is it both? Is it even one of them? I also read in a fashion mag that this season is 'candy’ make up, as in colourful and bright make up, also what kind of shops can you buy candy make up in?

ANSWER

Dear Fashion Freak,

Colors and makeup are always interesting to think about each season. First of all, I need to say that candy makeup is only ever suitable on young girls under the age of 21. Candy makeup is very 80s in style and would consist of pinks, blues and greens! Think of the little chalk lollies you get that say things like ‘I Love You’ and you’ll have an idea of the colors for candy makeup.  You can get this kind of makeup from any of the high street stores including Supre and Dottie, they will usually have a selection at the countery to choose from. I would also say that you can get candy makeup from Target or even Myers in the Miss Shop.

Now for colors! This season is actually I would say the season of color, so indeed you can wear blue, or silver (which comes from the space age inspired themes from the catwalks). However, I would also suggest that you can wear royal purple, yellow and green!

Bright colors are the go for this season, so go for it, just don’t overload on the candy eye make up and colourful outfit or you might end up a bit more Cirque de Soleil than Dolly Covergirl (0:

Remember to always balance the colors of your outfit with your makeup and you’ll be a style queen.
