Chicks are digging mens clothes again, which is a-okay with me, coz I don't mind slipping into my guys jeans! As for Robert Redford trousers, well who doesn't want to get into his pants!
Okay, so working at AskBronny means that I get bombarded with fashion everyday! It's a tough life I know, which means that we hear about new trends fairly quickly… so who else has noticed that woman's fashion is getting manly again. Lets look at three looks taking off that reintroduce the man into our lives with suggestions on how to adapt the look for you! 1. Highwaisted trousers – aka Robert Redferd trousers. There’s not question about it, they are hot, I love the look, not everyone can wear them but if you can, go for it sister. I think this is a classic look that never really dates, it might go out of fashion, but all you have to do is put those babies back in the closet and wait because they will reappear and reappear, rabbit out of the hat is the kind of trousers these are. But we all get it right, this design was based on mens suit trousers. Women in the fifties actually began to wear mens trousers after the war years when the women were sent into the factories to process amunitions we can all picture the trousered gals with scarves wrapped around their heads! Actresses, Catherine Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe, fashion followed suit and pretty soon we had them on the runways. 2. Boyfriend Jeans These are often the ripped variety that you pull on to take the rubbish out, they could be a 501. Either way they are definitely too big for you and are on the loose side of things. There are a couple of good things about this look. Firstly, if you have a man he loves seeing you in his clothes, secondly you can dag around the house in these are feel good. Now as for looking good, these jeans don’t look great on anyone who has a woman’s bottom because woman’s bum and mans jean equals big bum! But if you’ve got no bum (or a flat bottom) then men’s jeans are made for you. Don’t let the jean look baggy on your arse – it just isn’t a good look, so either put a belt on, maybe a scarf or roll the top of the jean over. Team them with a flat shoe or maybe a cute trainer or pair of thongs. Either way we recommend you stick with something fitting on top to balance out the baggy nature of the bottom half. Not sure if this look suits you, then why not the AskBronny community by submitting a photo in 'Does My Bum Look Big In This' anonymous and you're sure to get your answer! 3. Braces Brace yourself, you're hearing it here first – braces are going to come back, it’s only a matter of time, this is definitely a manish look, and if you are going to attempt to wear it, try to get it cute. We suggest you try it for a work look, white shirt, braces and Robert Redferd trousers. You could try it with a cute skirt, but the skirt would need to be tailored and fit extremely well. A cute option could be the well made tailored skirt with t-shirt, braces and a pair of ballet slippers! Just a couple of ideas for the braces. Well that’s it for girls getting manly, I myself quite like to dag around the house in my blokes clothes – and who can forget Carrie (SATC) walking home from Mr Bigs in a white shirt and belt with stiletto’s, now there’s a lady getting manly in an awfully sexy way!
