To Vogue or not to Vogue

For example, you grab the mag and the first thing you see are tiny girls in miniscule outfits or ridiculous styles that you figure simply won’t translate for you.  Fair enough, I’ve seen enough outfits in Vogue to have made me want to cough my muffin up with my coffee, on the other hand, I’ve seen some great things in Vogue that have been easily adapted for my wardrobe.  So, whats the sticky on Vogue for this coming season let AskBronny tell you what we think.

1. Stripes
Stripes are definitely in!  So start thinking nautical.  It’s not about the outfit, but about the pattern.  It’s simple, it’s stripes, bold, skinny, horizontal, vertical.  In jackets, jumpers, skivvies, polos – you name it, the stripe can take it.  There are a couple of rules with stripes, firstly if you are a plus sized girl I would suggest you think about stripes through accessories, it’s a common known fact that horizontal stripes make you appear wider than you are.  So this rules goes for big busted gals too.  But that doesn’t mean you can’t do something with stripes anyway.  For example, you might spot a shrug that is stripey, or you may put a stripey top on underneath a vest so that the stripey part of your look is the arms.  In this way you can still adapt the trend to your look.  Keep the stripe to a minimum if you feel it’s not going to work with your figure.  Or, there are some great skinny scarves, handbags and jewellery that feature stripes that you might want to consider as your stripey accessory this season.  For those of you who feel you can wear stripes, then go for it, just one thing – no stripes below the waist is our suggestion!

2. Big Bags
Everywhere we look it’s tote, tote and more tote.  We love it, the big bag means you can put everything into it!  On the other hand – big bags aren’t that great for when you are in a hurry and can’t find your keys or mobile.  Chloe and Kooba are very now, but if you don’t have a spare $500 to drop on the cheapest one of eBay (like my verrry stylish friend did recently), head to your nearest Sportsgirl and you’ll be able to pick up a cheap copy for half the price.

3. Gold jewelry
Yep, it’s back!  Wear a long fake gold necklace as a belt around your waist for something different.  Get the gold earings in and think loud and gawdy.  My advice on anything that is new and a little loud is don’t go overboard, if gold is in then think how you can adapt gold to suit you.  Maybe you look terrible in gold, if this is the case and you know it, then steer clear!  If on the other hand you look great in gold, for example gold looks great on people with olive skin or a deep tan, then go for it – start digging me little goldies!

Ah and on the subject of Vogue who could forget Carrie Bradshaw drunk at Vogue ‘I’m drunk at Vogue, at Vogue, I’m drunk’, seemed almost like a Chopper moment to me ‘Money is not here, here is not money’.  Anyhoo!  That’s all from me with the sticky on Vogue.  What do you think?  Can you step to it, strike the pose?  There's nothing to it – Vogue?
