When Ask Bronny asked me to list a ‘few of my favourite things’ I thought ‘that’s about right, a few’. As a guy I don’t have dozens of pairs of shoes, nor do I have a stack of accessories perfectly complimenting each outfit. But I’ve probably got quite a few clothes for a guy and if you’re a guy looking for a good base to build on, or just a gal looking to build your boy a base – check out my top 10.
Here tis, my top ten: 1. Tighty Whites But boxers not Y-fronts, a lad has to have some respectable and comfortable grunds, unless you’re a proponent of the free ball philosophy then substitute item one for some sunscreen when your tanning… 2. Diesel Jeans If there is one rule for dressing to impress in denim its ‘get yo’self some Diesel jeans’. Don’t blink at the price tag - throw down some cash as there is simply no better cut and you’ll look the business. 3. Rad T-Shirt Something fun, but not too busy with the logos or pictures. 4. Black Long Sleeved Round Neck Icebreaker 100% breathable merino wool in a classic style that will last you for years. Icebreaker gear is perfect for an extra layer or to look smart but stay comfortable. 5. Woollen Hoody Get something in a natural fibre and it’ll last for ages as well as looking eternally stylish. Mine is another Icebreaker, but I think they’ve discontinued the one I have. It’s sooooo good and has been around the world 3 times with me and is still in good shape. 6. Trucker Cap When you just can’t be farked doing your hair 7. Pimp Jacket Not literally pimp, just super stylish – go a leather for Spring and Autumn. I just picked up a gem of a retro 70s brown leather number at an op shop recently. 8. Vintage Suit Jacket Small towns are the best for vintage suit jackets as cities have already cottoned on to the fact "vintage = cash". Head to the country Op Shop to find the perfect gem tucked away at the back of the ‘Mens Coat’ rack. It’s where its at for some individuality. If you can find a great vintage buy, you know you’re the only one who’ll be wearing it, but be advised, it HAS to fit, no matter how cheap it is… ill fitting suit jackets just look bad.
9. Big Sunglasses Big is so big now right now - even for guys. Just make sure you don’t buy D&G or Dior sunglasses, they belong to chicks no matter what the assistant tells you. 10. Converse All Stars Lastly, some shoes to compliment your outfit and my all time favourites are Converse All Stars – don’t matter what colour, but white or black are best. Eternally stylish and will smash it with your Diesel jeans, crazy t-shirt and leather jacket. Yeah boy – work it! |
