It's winter in the Northern Hemisphere: rain, wind, snow and brrrr. You'd rather stay under the covers. AskBronny brings you Winter colors to warm any wardrobe.
Stop lamenting the weather and get Sexy Back! Now black is always flattering on any shape but this winter it’s not all about the somber fabrics. Naturally, many of you will be wearing darker colours but to add some variety to your wardrobe, try splashing some bright colours with your darker ones. You will feel better and it will accentuate certain areas of your body that flatter you. For instance, an electric blue jumper with a dark skirt or set of pants would look divine in the office instead of black pants and a black shirt. Leave all black for melancholy times like funerals. At the same time, if you feel more comfortable wearing all black, then make sure you wear colored heels or scarf or even a gold bangle to mix it up. Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean you have to keep all your dresses tucked away. Thanks to leggings and little cardigans, dresses don’t have to sit in your wardrobe until summer time. Smock dresses are in, especially grey ones teamed with black leggings, colored ankle boots and a colored cardigan. Mix colours like grey and black with blood orange or acid yellow to brighten up a dull outfit. Winter is also about layering! Winter is that time when we can layer ourselves silly. For those of you who like to be daring with fashion, why not try wearing translucent fabrics on the outside and darker ones underneath? Try a lemon cardigan on top of a longer black skivvy. It’s also important to rug in during winter and there’s nothing better than rugging up in a woolen coat. Coats aren’t too expensive and you can find ones reasonably priced in many stores. Make sure you opt for ones that are double breasted, have buttons belts and pockets! Try something new and get yourself a red one to show off your vivacious side. Also, red is such a versatile colour, it works well with black and grey. If grey and black aren’t your colours, then don’t forget that deep purples, browns and charcoal are also in style this season. Mix up any dark outfit with soft mauves, light greys, baby pinks and warm reds to add style to those black pants you can’t get out of. At the same time, neutral tones can also be added to many designs. Winter is also that time of the year when you can stay indoor with your ugg-boots, leggings and favourite jumper and watch re-runs of your favourite T.V show. In Australia, it’s winter time so for all our Australian readers, sit yourselves down on your couches, grab a blanket and carefully sip the hot chocolate you’ve just made….tomorrow you’re all off winter shopping! |
