Linen Pants
Written by Bronny
Hi Bronny,

I have a pair of linen pants that are too short, instead of hemming them to normal capri length I thought it would be cool
to hem them on an angle. I’m wondering which angle is most flattering;

- from the centre out, so looking form the front each leg would be longest on the outside of my calf
 - opposite; longer on the inside of my calves creating a "V"
 - or an ongoing angle, so the line would be "/\" the whole way across?

OR am I getting to complicated all together?

From
Stacey

ANSWER

Dear Stacey,

Can I suggest that you pin them, then put them on before you do any cutting.

In my opinion, I wouldn’t be cutting them into any shape other than a classic straight bottom sitting about mid-calf.

If you wanted to make this particular type of cut slightly different, you could give them a Japanese flavour by slitting the sides slightly so that they still appear flat across the bottom but are almost like a flap.

After you have pinned the trousers and seen how they look in the different ways, then you can decide which works best for you and your leg shape.
