It's that time of the year in the hotter parts of the world where lounging on a deck chair whilst sipping on a refreshing beverage seems so divine. Sunshine and the
endless evenings make it an idyllic season for parties and hot summer fashion.
This summer, it’s all about soft and lissome colours, particularly pinks, yellows, mints, apricots light blues and lilacs. The quintessential core tones of black and white can also be seen in various designs. This week Ask Bronny dives into swimwear and takes a look at what’s hot for both the ladies and men this summer. It’s important to remember to wear bathing suits that flatter your shape and make you feel and look fabulous. When looking for swimwear have in mind your body shape and parts of your body you want to flash and other parts you’d like to hide. Here's AskBronny's Summer tips on getting the best bathers for your shape. Pear: Jlo, Beyonce Usually, Pears have: long necks, narrow shoulders and curvy hips and full thighs. When choosing a bathing suit, it’s all about balance. Play up the top with colourful bikini tops which will bring people’s attention to your neck and bust. Bandeau bikini tops will draws attention away from your hips. However, bottoms with ruffles or bows will show off your curvy hips. If you want to hide your hips, then choose a bottom that is darker and top that is lighter. Strapless bikinis are very flattering as they emphasie your small waist. Boyish: Cameron Diaz Usually, boyish figures have: long and lean limbs, small bust | flat chested and narrow hips. Choosing a bathing suit that will flatter your shape is important or else you may end up looking a little too boyish! Having said that, avoid anything that cuts across your body. Choose bikinis that have thin straps and that are colourful and have patterns as this will give the illusion of curves. Choose bathing suits that are darker to emphasise the chest and bottom, also giving the illusion of curves. Apple: Kate Winslett Usually, apples have: small hips, shapely legs and small to medium bust. Since apples tend to be heavier on top, it’s important to wear bikini tops that have support and thick straps are perfect. Choose bottoms that are printed and tops with under wire to show off your best assets. However, if your tummy is a little flabby, then choose a crossover piece that gives the illusion of a defend waist. Hourglass: Salma Hayek Usually, hourglass’ have: well defined waist and well proportioned breast and hips. Hourglass figure are the envy of most women as it’s essential ‘the perfect’ body. Women who are blessed with this shape can wear most styles but the key is to accentuate the waist. Choose matching bikini tops and bottoms to really show off your sexy womanly figure. Plus Size: Queen Latifah Usually, plus size figures have weight distributed evenly throughout body. V style designs look great on you as well as dark colours and sheer sarongs. Try Kaftans as well they cover those bits you're not so keen on and look amazing with colorful thongs and your favorite swimmers. Go for a boy leg and halter neck if wanting to try a two piece. Also there are some great one pieces that can really suck in your shape. Again in a one-piece try a halterneck and a lower cut in the leg, team this with a sarong or kaftan and you're off to the beach.
