Wedding Outfit

Hi Bronny,

I'm going to a wedding the end of this month.  I am wearing a this dress and these shoes. I need some ideas re: accessories, make up and hair.  I have long (mid back) reddish brown hair which is naturally wavy but I usually blow & straighten out.  I'm no so great at complicated hairstyles.  I wear minimal to no make up normally, but I am quite comfortable with applying eyeliner & shadow. I have blue/green eyes, lots of freckles and fair skin (I've been using self tanner and will darken a bit, but not to any sort of toasty color, by the time of the wedding).  The dress actually comes with bra-like straps which I was thinking of replacing with those jeweled type you can buy.  I'm not sure if they are tacky or not!  I also don't know where to go to buy them in-person (I don't have time to order online).  Also I was curious if you think those shoes are a good match.  Looking forward to your response!

Firstly I’d like to say gorgeous dress and shoes. In this situation I think you could wear those shoes – although I would tend to not go for an ankle strap purely based on the length of the dress. Here are some shoe suggestions that could work with this gorgeous dress:

I’d be taking my inspiration from Dita VonTeese with a dress as lush as this.

I think you could wear a choker perhaps around your neck. I’d go for an updo with my hair – which means you might like to pay a visit to the hairdresser if you’re not so good at doing your own hair (me neither, so you’re not alone there).

I’d keep your makeup simple, based on what you normally do – however I would go for bright red lips and kohled eyes for a smokey, sexy look. Keep the focus of your outfit the lush aspect of the dress and a fabulous pair of shoes and I think you’ll be set.
I’d avoid the jeweled straps as the dress is enough on it’s own and I feel doesn’t need anything added to it to make it better.
