QUESTION Dear Bronny, I wanted to know how to accessorize my outfit. It's a classic black dress...and pearls come to mind, but I thought I'd play with it a little. Should I wear expressive earrings, a bracelet and no necklace. A long necklace with small earrings or a bite the grandma bullet and go with pearl necklace and bracelet? I don't have shoes yet, but love the idea of a patent leather. I do have trouble with peeptoe shoes for some reason (they seem to be cut lower around the foot). What do you think? ANSWER I would avoid the pearls in this instance – it will age you which I’ll assume you don’t want to do. I also probably wouldn't go for the long necklace with this type of dress either. You could instead go for a black patent shoe then match with as you say expressive earrings and bracelet. If you have diamonds or something sparkly, this could really set the outfit off. Plus, with your auburn hair, I think you don’t want to go too overboard with color in this instance. Here are some shoes I think are stunning that could look great with the dress mentioned. Although they are peep toed – they are not too low cut. Here are another coupled of shoes that could look great – that are not peep toe. Shoe 3 Love |
