The past weekend I was privy in attending the fabulous LiveStyle
Fashion and Music on show 2009 at Docklands in Melbourne, Australia. Come with me as I walk you through this year's LiveStyle Festival.
Firstly, Docklands truly was a fabulous venue for the event, with the backdrop of the Yarra River, city nightlights view of the Westgate and Bolte bridges, it certainly made sipping champagne whilst perusing fashion very easy on the eye in more ways than one. Add to that super hot DJs the likes of John Course, Agent 86, Derek{K}, Nick Foey and Grant Smilie and you have a recipe for a hot event. The stalls ranged from Life With Bird, True Religion, Hudson, Dizingoff, Bettina Liano, Diesel, Roy, Daid Bromley, Cyberia, Cactus Jam, Rare, Nolita, Vans, American Vintage, Rebirth, Autonomy, Tuska Nique, State of Georgia and more. A highlight of the event was the involvement of the magazine Grazia who had a stall setup for anyone to have their photo taken for a ‘fake’ front page photo op! Nice! This was truly a hilarious and fun element to the event which made it more than just a weekend of looking at clothes. The runway shows were gorgeous with the clothes displayed on the models to perfection with pumping accompanying music. The VIP Friday night was one of those nights where you spend time star spotting and mingling with the likes of Bettina Liano, Grant Smilie, Kate Ceberano, Rhys (Make Me A Supermodel) and Dicko to name a few whilst perusing exactly what you want to buy. Now I hear you asking yeah sure Bronny you had a good time but what did you buy! Well I couldn’t go past three things. A pair of Hudson jeans, a Dizingoff dress and top. Gorgeous! I’ve looked everywhere online for images of what I bought and can only find the jeans, so you’ll just have to be content with descriptions of the other items. The top is your regular black sleeveless T but has cut out holes in it making it that something special. The dress is short, made of stretchy silver material and has balloon sleeves, sounds ick, possibly looks ick on the rack, pull it on and you have what can only be described as figure hugging fabulousness. Finally, I’m a huge fan of Hudsons and couldn’t go past a pair of black, skinny leg shiny jeans – here they are: Hudson Jeans They look like leather but get up close and they are a clever trick of the eye. All of this for $200 – indeed – gotta love LiveStyle. Make sure you know when the next one is on and visit their website regularly for LiveStyle Festival fashion news www.livestylefestival.com.au. Prices are discounted across the whole the weekend which makes it a must on anyone’s fashion calendar. I certainly had a fabulous time and can’t wait to do it all over again when the next LivesStyle Fashion Festival hits town. |
