Working With What I've Got
Written by Bronny
Hi Bronny,

I am an ugly 24Y man, and my problems are as follows:

- my skin is too white, I sometimes have pimples
- my chin is deformed, the left side is bigger
- I have good hair, no sign of balding except my hair has two large V shaped bald patches
- my eyebrows are way too thin (most girls even have bigger eyebrows than me)
- my nose is curved like an eagle, and maybe a bit too small
- I wear glasses, and sometimes contact lenses. The glasses have left a red spot on my nose, and have curved a bit the bones near my temples (I've had them since 7)

How do I cover these flaws to improve my looks?

Thx for your great work.

Cheers,
D ANSWER

Hi Dicki,

Well firstly, please don't refer to yourself as ugly. Half the battle in looking good is feeling good and having this kind of internal dialogue is not going to help. Ok - so I sounded a bit Dr Phil there - but it's true.

Second of all, I think you need to stop analysing yourself so closely. Everyone gets pimples sometimes, to combat this - drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and implement a skin routine, clean, cleanse and moisturise! Lots of guys do this to look after their skin. Also, make sure you always use a moisturiser with an SPF 15 (at least) factor to stop your skin from getting burnt. There's nothing wrong with having very white skin. Most supermodels would kill for that kind of skin!

I used to know a guy who had one side of his chin bigger than the other. He grew a goatie over it to cover it and automatically the problem was solved. I'd recommend giving this a go, he kept his trimmed and wore a moustache with it - again very trimmed, it looked awesome and covered the part of his chin he didn't like. Here is a good example of what i'm talking about:

- Goatie Option

I assume with your hair you are referring to a receding hairline. Make sure you have a good hairdresser to cut it in a good shape. Keifer Sutherland has this kind of hair (i'm guessing a bit like what you described) and you can see how a good cut works for him:

- Haircut Option

Forget about your eyebrows, i'm sure they are fine! An eagle shaped nose is a regal nose, so again - forget about that. Most people don't even notice noses or eyebrows anyway unless you have something hanging out of it or something stuck in your eyebrow like last nights leftover dinner.

With your eyes - well there is always the option of Lasic, but why do that when there are so many great glasses out there to choose from. Make sure you get yourself a great pair of specs, there is nothing wrong with wearing glasses and lots of people wear them who don't even need to. Here are some ideas on what can look great:

- Glasses Option 1
- Glasses Option 2
- Glasses Option 3

Now, you'll notice the last picture is of Sean Penn. Take a good look at him. He certainly isn't what you'd call handsome. However, people think he looks great, gorgeous even! He's married to the gorgeous Robyn Wright and they say was having an affair with Natalie Portman!

Remember - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You can do lots of things to make yourself look better, but the best thing you can do is tell yourself you look great just the way you are.

Having a decent haircut, wearing good glasses and taking care of your skin should really just be a part of who you are.

Love the skin you're in and always dress to impress whilst taking care of your best asset - you.

Love
Bronny
