Dear Bronny, I recently purchased a fake hair piece scrunchy from a $2 shop. It is strawberry blond with frills, plaits, twists and curls. While I have been wearing it quite frequently, I have been receiving strange looks from passer-bys. Do you think it is acceptable and still cool to wear this hair piece even though I have brown hair? Please help Bronny!! From Clive ANSWER Hi Clive, It's an interesting question you ask. Firstly, I'm not sure if you are a girl or a boy, that would be helpful in answering your question. But there are a couple of words that jump out at me signalling fashion disaster. Firstly '$2 shop' and secondly 'scrunchie'. One normally doesn't find iconic fashion pieces in a $2 shop. Also, the scrunchie was something that was hot for a while in the 90s but really doesn't need a revival. My instinct here is that it's probably not so cool to be wearing this hair piece and that this is why you may be receiving strange looks. Perhaps you could enjoy it at home but not out of doors. Sometimes fashion items we think are exquisite others don't like at all. If you are really in doubt, look to the style icons - can you imagine Audrey or Jackie O wearing this scrunchie? If your answer is a resounding no - then i'd be thinking twice about it as a fashion accessory. Love Bronny xxxx |
