Every gal loves a pair of shoes. Doesn't she? Even those gals who say
they don't really do. I've seen the proof when styling! One minute a
girl couldn't care less about her shoes - the next minute she's
drooling over a pair of heels I've convinced her to try on. So what are
the top tips when buying shoes? Here's mine! 1. Try, Try, Try: try anything and everything, shoes are no different to clothes in the sense that what doesn't look so hot off can look fab on. 2. Patent it up: In patent leather shoes you will most likely be one size bigger than usual, this is because patent leather doesn't stretch as easily, don't make the mistake of buying patent online only to be devastated when they arrive and don't fit. 3. Staple: make sure you have the staples in your wardrobe, these are the failsafe must haves. Black heels, a pair of boots (flat or heeled), a pair of trainers / runners and a pair of flip flops. If you do anything at all, make sure you have these staples in your closet, they really can be teamed with everything. 4. Walk it out: don't be embarrassed to go for a walk in the shoes you are buying, wander around the store, look at the shoe in their mirrors, don't be shy, after all, these are your new buddies you'll be spending a lot of time with. 5. Go for a coffee: if you're unsure of your shoe purchase go and have a coffee, sometimes we can be debating whether or not to buy that gorgeous pair of heels that we really can't afford. If you're still thinking about those shoes an hour later then go and layby them, chances are you'll be thinking about them in a week - and in a year, talking about those shoes you wished you had gone and bought. Shoes really do make an outfit, so make sure you have the right ones and they fit. Bad shoes can result in sore knees, ankles and hips - so make sure what you put on your feet fits and never walk long distances in heels! They are for sitting in, not standing or walking a long way.
