Dear Bronny, My daughter is getting married in an 11:00 am wedding at a Military Officers Club it is not a military wedding (her father was military). What type of dress would be appropriate for me to wear? I am 49 years old. Most of the mother of the bride dresses I have seen look like something my mother will be wearing. I think that going for something stylish, yet understated is the way to go here. I'd look for a cocktail evening dress rather than a 'mother of the bride' dress. Scour the department stores and then go to the smaller shopping strips where you will find boutique stores.
