Last night Melbournians held their own version of the Academy Awards, rolling out the red carpet at Crown Casino for this year’s Logie awards. Proving that Aussies can do it just as well as our American counterparts in the fashion department, AskBronny takes a look at the fabulous frocks of the evening. And those that simply let us down. Megan Gale received grand accolades for her plunging long black dress, completed with a small train. While the brunette vixen went for dark and mysterious, her ex-rival, Jennifer Hawkins opted for short and sunny. Ms Hawkins arrived in a long-sleeved white mini dress that certainly did her gorgeous figure justice. J’Aton was the designer of choice for many of the stars, including Kat Stewart and Natalie Bassingthwaighte who looked incredible in their gowns. Stewart shone in her draped silver dress with a thigh high slit and intricate Christine necklace. While heavily pregnant Bassingthwaighte wowed in her satin chiffon off the shoulder silver gown with ruffles and embroidered detail. Add the pregnant glow and you’ve got one hot looking mama! Carrie Bickmore took some inspiration from the Globes dipping the fashion scales in a black mermaid tail silhouette. Celebs opted for this trend during the award season including Penelope Cruz, Heidi Klum and Emily Blunt. Livinia Nixon went old Hollywood glam in a sparkling one-shoulder number with a lengthy train. The TV presenter broke out the hair curlers and finished with a glam up do. Loving the silver rectangular clutch. We all knew Brynne Edelston was bound to make a grand entrance, and as expected she delivered buoyantly. The buxom blonde donned a fire hydrant red dress created by Xen, her wedding planner that was so incredibly tight, she even had herself stitched right into it! The finishing product appeared to be a cross between Betty Boop meets Marie Antoinette trying desperately to emulate Carrie Bradshaw or perhaps even Lady Gaga. Funnily enough, she said the ensemble had been inspired by the likes of Ms Bradshaw. We can’t say the layers of tulle, bodice and high coif necessarily mesh well together. |
